250th Anniversary Celebratory Lecture Series
In Person & Livestreamed from the Performing Arts CenterJoin us as we celebrate our nations 250th Anniversary with a year-long a series of monthly lectures celebrating God’s miraculous acts during our nation’s fight for Independence.
The Series, God of Our Fathers: Mighty Miracles of the American Revolution, will highlight key moments of divine intervention, or miracles that took place in that month during the Revolutionary War—remarkable stories of timely reinforcements, inexplicable weather events, and the unwavering perseverance of the patriots and militias against overwhelming odds are but some of the testimonies of God’s miraculous protection and heavenly guidance on America’s path to independence. The anniversary of the Declaration of Independence provides an opportunity to remember God’s call on this country, reflect on His providential miracles, and recognize those individuals who partnered with Him in securing our nation’s freedom.

The Capture of Ticonderoga and the Relationship between Religion and Public Life in the American Revolution.
The raid on Fort Ticonderoga took place in the early morning on May 10, 1775. As the Colonists in Boston, under siege, needed the firearms, munitions or cannon found there, Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold and 168 Green Mountain Boys and New England militia breeched the fort at dawn and demanded surrender from Captain William DeLaPlace. He gave up his sword and the fort and the munitions to the rebels and not a single life was lost.

This battle on June 17, 1775, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, is remembered as the bloodiest battle in the War for Independence. Many patriot participants believed their struggle was not merely a political disagreement, but a sacred cause ordained by God. The untold story of the Battle of Bunker Hill is that it represents a powerful testament to the inseparable connection between faith and patriotism.

The Battle of the Monongahela in July 1755 launched the military career of young George Washington during the French and Indian War. He fought alongside British General Edward Braddock when the French surprised them in an ambush attack. The British, including General Braddock, were being annihilated. Washington rode back and forth across the battle, delivering Braddock’s orders. Every officer on horseback, except Washington, was shot down. “But by the all-powerful dispensations of Providence, I have been protected beyond all human probability or expectation…” he wrote in a letter to his brother after the battle.
Please join Bill Federer at a reception following the lecture.
