Martha Peterson, Soprano

Berlin based soprano Martha Peterson sings a variety of repertoire, from baroque to contemporary. Opernglas magazine praised her as “overwhelming and beguiling“ for he recent debut as Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire in Germany. Other appearances this season include the title role in The Merry Widow with Theater Pforzheim, Julia in Der Vetter aus Dingsda with Staatsoperette Dresden, and an acclaimed solo concert of baroque arias with the Main-Barockorchester in Frankfurt.

Highlights from past seasons include Gilda in Rigoletto and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Rosina in Il Barbiere Di Siviglia with Theater Krefeld/Mönchengladbach. In 2022 she returned to the Händelfestspiele Halle to portray Laodice in Handel’s Siroe with L’orfeo Barockorchester under the baton of Michi Gaigg.

Martha is a graduate of the University of Arts in Berlin, was awarded the Joachim-Fontheim-Prize, and was a prizewinner with Accademia Belcanto Graz.
