About the Instructor
Dr. SharonRose Pfeiffer is an organist at the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, MA and she has concertized throughout the U.S. and France. She earned degrees from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, and from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. At Westminster she studied Children’s Choir Pedagogy and Practicum with Helen Kemp and Sue Ellen Page. A course with John Feirabend at the Hartt School of Music on “First Steps in Music for Early Childhood” helped establish her three-pronged approach to teaching children:
1. the joy of singing 2. rhythmic ease 3. artistry
Dr. Pfeiffer has over 20 years of experience as Director of Children’s Choirs at numerous churches, including the formation and development of graded children’s choirs, preschool through high school.
