Gaudete Baroque Ensemble seeks to bring joy and stylistic expression to Baroque chamber music, both in worship and in concert.
Gaudete Baroque Ensemble seeks to bring joy and stylistic expression to a wide variety of Baroque chamber music. The ensemble pursues authenticity through the use of Baroque bows and period instruments, with the primary goal to communicate the message of the music with truth and beauty. The group’s wide range of repertoire, from music of the royal courts to rustic peasant dances, reflects the cultures, traditions, and various national styles of the Baroque era.
The ensemble is based at the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, MA, where they participate regularly in worship services as well as public performances that are both in person and livestreamed. Members participate in masterclasses, and teach young people in summer programs at the Performing Arts Building in Brewster, MA. Gaudete means “rejoice,” and that is the mission of the group: rejoicing in the love of Christ and sharing His love with others through the joy of Baroque music.
