About the Lecture

The Battle of Brooklyn, fought on August 29–30, 1776, revealed a series of extraordinary miracles that helped turn the tide of the Revolutionary War. Despite overwhelming odds, unexpected British delays, a sudden rainstorm, and a mysterious fog allowed the Continental Army to carry out a silent overnight evacuation to safety; All 9,000 troops, along with their horses and artillery, escaped across the river without detection.
